The mermaids and I

Yesterday I closed my eyes
Side by side with the sea
Waves crashing over me
The siren song from childhood
Sisters calling to me
Come join us
In the mermaid fun.
I walked along into the blue
Feeling their fingers pulling me
Seaweed hair on sun salted skin
Soft and soothing
Drawing me in.
I slipped below into the world
Of smiles and the tinkling sounds
Of laughter
Oh fair maiden you’ve returned
So come and we shall swim
Below we will again explore.
The fishes of rainbows flitted about
Playing tag perhaps
As I moved through their games
Merriment and joy greeting
The solitary wanderer
Returning home once more.
I awoke on shore dried and sun-kissed
The sounds in my ears
Goodbye my sister
Please do return
We’ve missed you so but we must go.
The beach deserted
I stood to leave
And falling from my waving hair
A piece of seaweed woven there
And a small white pearl clenched in my palm
Daydreams or truth
It matters not
For I will return to this place
Heeding the call of my sisters there
Alive with the home
Of ocean song.

I am a sometimes poet on a quest to master the universe of my mind. My writing runs the gamut of nature, off beat, life and basically the world as I see it through the windows of my eyes. Welcome to my blog. Sit a spell in your big comfy armchair or favorite spot and read for a while if it suits and don't forget to leave a comment to let me know who you are and all that jazz. Looking forward to what each day brings and catch you on the flip side of the stars. Peace and blessings.

  1. Yes Hun. I knew she was there. She loves you more than you can feel it. She wants the same love for you that she found… And she smiling… And ALWAYS gently by your side.

Genre tears rolling , now a blurt mess, ell down Sioux’s checks. She feels her love for you :).

    WOW!
