Simple days

In the darkness
feet shuffle along through
tired dim hallways,
slippers move slowly
cat stretches and moves
safe from steps
shuffling along
a tired yawn
he sits by the door pondering
the beyond,
she opens the door slowly
as cat peers out into night
turning
retreating back
to the comfort of a worn pillow.
She goes about her morning chores
another day about to begin
same routine
she sits and waits for him.
He peers at her from afar
their love affair begins once more
as he shines his light
through to find her sitting
patiently
eager to say hello
happy to be here
for another day.

Inspired by my morning thoughts as I shuffled through the darkness so that I didn’t squish the cat who likes to sleep in strange places and just being grateful to have acknowledged the day with a blessing for a peaceful day ahead.

I am a sometimes poet on a quest to master the universe of my mind. My writing runs the gamut of nature, off beat, life and basically the world as I see it through the windows of my eyes. Welcome to my blog. Sit a spell in your big comfy armchair or favorite spot and read for a while if it suits and don't forget to leave a comment to let me know who you are and all that jazz. Looking forward to what each day brings and catch you on the flip side of the stars. Peace and blessings.
