Into today

i had a story

As deep and mysterious as

A thousand nights

Forgotten.

How many years had it been

Since I saw your face

Till photographs remind me

Of all I left behind.

These days filled with more

Letting go

Moving on

Loving more

Dreaming always

And I thought then of the words you wrote

Yellowed and folded

Childlike print

You were a sage of my yesterday

Now crumbling into the fire

I built of scattered thoughts

That will burn

And I will walk away

In mirror image of you

But I will be better

Because I left it behind

On the path

To loving me.

I am a sometimes poet and an author of fiction novels (K.L.Laettner) on a quest to master the universe of my mind. My writing runs the gamut of nature, off beat, life and basically the world as I see it through the windows of my eyes. Welcome to my blog. Sit a spell in your big comfy armchair or favorite spot and read for a while if it suits and don't forget to leave a comment to let me know who you are and all that jazz. Looking forward to what each day brings and catch you on the flip side of the stars. Peace and blessings.

    1. Thanks, when I was a kid my grandma would send me a card for each holiday/birthday from Snoopy. Always a fun new snoopy card….it wasn’t till I hit my teens until that last one and when she passed away, my mom told me who they were from all those years….like Woodstock too…makes me laugh☺️ are you a snoopy fan also?

      1. Yeah, I am. I think it started for me because for one I love dogs but also because I love snoopy at the typewriter since I want to be a writer. I’m not really into the other characters, but I love snoopy! That’s a cute story about your Grandma.
